The National Wooden Pallet & Container Association (NWPCA) is proud to partner with The Packaging School, a leading online education platform that offers professional development programs and training courses in packaging design, development, and technology. Through its partnership with NWPCA, The Packaging School can offer its members free access to the latest information and best practices in wooden pallet design, manufacturing, and sustainability. This collaboration between two industry leaders ensures that professionals in the packaging industry have the knowledge and skills needed to create innovative and effective packaging solutions.

University & Educational Outreach

We believe that education is critical to the next generation of packaging designers to understand the environmental attributes of wood and the tools available to build a better, safer pallet. We provide packaging schools with the Pallet Design System™ (PDS), and we support the work of students who seek innovative solutions in design and unit load. The universities below use PDS in their courses. Please contact NWPCA-PDS if you are an accredited university that is interested in using PDS (complimentary) in your classroom.

  • Michigan State University
  • The University of Monterrey (Mexico)
  • University of Wisconsin – Stout
  • Virginia Tech, Center for Packaging & Unit Load Design (CPULD)

The educational outreach to colleges and universities is made possible through the generous support of the Pallet Foundation – a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The Pallet Foundation’s commitment to advancing pallet design education has enabled students to gain practical experience in the industry and stay at the forefront of pallet design research.
